Take My Word for It

I'm relatively certain I could post 20 photos of this card, and still wouldn't be able to see how sparkly it is. So, you'll just have to take my word for it. With the embossed design covered with glitter, it's sparkly, and because I kept the rest of the design simple, it's got that understated elegant look that I like.

I've seen the technique on several blogs but am remiss to know where I saw it first (or last, for that matter). Just know, I didn't "invent" it!

The glitter and glue I used are from the Martha Stewart line. Not really knowing what I was doing nor how fast the glue would dry, I glued and then added my glitter in small sections. When it was done and dry, I added the narrow black mat and the ribbon. Originally I'd planned to add a tag with a sentiment but changed my mind and stamped it in a patch of white space up in the corner. It worked for me. I hope you like it, too.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Black cardstock; Black ink pad; Papertrey Ink Mixed Messages stamp set; Cuttlebug w/Leafy Branch embossing folder; Martha Stewart Carrara Marble glitter; MS glitter glue; Red Satin ribbon from Walmart.

I hope your weekend has been wonderful. If I'm not too tired, I'll post this evening after we get home. Not having stamped for a few days, I'm sure I'll be suffering from withdrawal! Later ...

Breath taking is what I would use to describe this card. Love the black, white, and pop of red.

OMG....I think I know which card (or one of) that you've been inspired by. Dang...I meant to pick up that folder and didn't because I wanted to do the same thing. Now I HAVE to because Kathi is my personal enabler. LOL

LOVE the card and I KNOW how gorgeous it must be in person.

Hope you've had a great weekend!
