Simple Saturday

I mentioned a few days ago that I was itching to try another card using the baby wipe technique in a blue/green color combination. Well, this is it – a perfect card for Simple SaturdayAsian Life_2_Jan 2010. The technique, if you (like me) didn’t catch it the first time, is explained here on the Clean & Simple Stamping blog. Instead of embossing my stamped images in white, I stamped them in black for this card and am liking the results. The background is textured cardstock, which gives the card a much richer look than it would have had on plain white cardstock. The reinkers I used were Sweet Leaf, Heavenly Blue, and Crystal Blue.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Black cardstock; White Daisy Textured cardstock; Glossy White cardstock; Black inkpad; Sweet Leaf, Heavenly Blue, and Crystal Blue reinkers; Inkadinkado Asian Life stamp set; Baby wipes.

My apologies for having been MIA these past few days. No energy. No mojo. I tried to create something last night, but after dumping a jar of white embossing powder on the floor, I kind of threw my hands up and gave up for the evening. Missing consecutive days of posting makes me feel unreliable and causes “blogger guilt.” Dumb, I know, and I have to remind myself that this is not a job. I do it for fun.

We are experiencing some strange weather. It rained all night, and now, it’s snowing. I had a hair cut scheduled for 9 this morning and didn’t think I’d even be able to get into my car that alone drive it. As it turned out, it was warm enough for the ice on the windows to slide off in sheets. The roads were slushy and slippery, but I took my time and got there. As a result, I no longer look like a shaggy dog. The snow is supposed to continue for several days with strong winds forecast for later today and tomorrow. If the temperatures stay up there though, the snow should be too heavy to blow around … much, anyway.

With lots to do this weekend, I’m off to get started. With a little luck, I’ll get to spend some time in my corner and make up for lost time. Have a great weekend, and like always, thank you so much for stopping by!

Beautiful Kathi! Perhaps something was in the air this week, as my mojo was really lacking as well, I just struggled in my craft room and I too get that blogger's guilt! Glad I'm not the only one!

LOVE this technique Kathi! Your card is beautiful. I've been having blogger's guilt for months now...I am almost at the point of shutting the whole thing down, just to make it go away. I'm glad you were able to get out for the haircut...be safe, stay warm!

This is so beautiful and it looks like a technique that I should try.

I'm glad you were able to keep your hair appointment. Don't worry about the blog. You'll post and create when you have the time and mojo.

Have a great weekend.

I loved the other version but I really do like the blue/green one even better!! The cool colors are just so pretty.

I'm sorry you're missing your mojo - I wouldn't have known it!!! Please don't have any "guilt" over me - I'm very patient! I miss you when you're gone, but you'll come back (if we don't burn you out, that is). So - do what's right for you - we'll all be better off for it.

As for driving in the slush - amazing. I would have just stayed home! I'm a big chicken.

Kathi!! What is with this weather!
I LOVE your card and those colors are SO restful!
Beautiful card.
I SO hear you about bloggers guilt..I would start to panic if I hadn't commented on EVERYONES blog. I at least have been able to not worry about the posting every day thing..Now if I could cut down on the comments...when I started blogging I told myself ..if I look I will say something..Now I follow SOO many blogs it's ridiculous.
But I figure..you know who your real friends are right! Even if we have never met.
:0) Take care!!!! And know that you ALWAYS inspire me.

Gorgeous card, Kathi! Just gorgeous!

I'm sorry you feel some guilt over blogging. I really wish you wouldn't. (I understand it, but still wish you wouldn't). Your blog is your personal space to post as you can. If your mojo is flowing that could be several times a day, if not...just a time or two a week, if that. Your friends know you and love you and will be thrilled whenever you post! Please work on the whole feeling guilty thing. It's a stress that is completely not necessary (in my humble opinion). Lecture over...LOL

Glad you were able to get your hair cut! Stay safe and warm!

Kathi, I don't understand this Blogger's guilt that people are talking about. I didn't know there was anything to be guilty about. Oh man, now I have to start worrying about something else. - grins -
Love the card especially that panda. I have contacted a stamp maker to see about getting a panda stamp for my signature.
I have been working on a wedding gift for my nephew for the past two weeks so I haven't been doing much of anything else. I went to the doctor last sunday and he said I had an upper respiratory infection. I went to a different doctor yesterday and he says I now have bronchitis. Guess I better blog about it, huh.
Take care and Looks like your mojo is intact to me.
