Simple Valentines

Here’s my take on Unscripted Sketches #39. I’ve got quite a thing going with textured Best Things_Jan 2010 cardstock these days and probably sound like a broken record when I say I think it adds a touch of elegance to my otherwise very simple cards. The hearts were stamped on smooth cardstock, cut out, and attached to the card with foam mounting tape.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Holiday Red, Black, and White Daisy Textured cardstock; Black and Holiday Red ink pads; Impression Obsession Best Things and CTMH Say it in Style stamp sets; Cuttlebug w/Swiss Dots embossing folder; 3M foam mounting tape.

And here’s another … And, I think you can darned near see the textured cardstock in this photo. Again, very simple. The little bird was colored with markers, and the heart on the envelope was filled in with glitter from my Glitter Tower. If nothing else, with no lumps or bumps, it is one that can be put in the mail with no worries of the envelope being shredded or the recipient having to cough up a few coins because the USPS deemed it required extra postage.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Black, and White Daisy Textured cardstock; Black ink pad; Crystal Blue and Sunflower markers; Impression Obsession Heartlines stamp set; Tonerex Glitter Tower; Glue pen.

How was your day? Mine was a good one with the exception of the weather, which is horrendous. Cold. Winds gusting to 40 mph that literally take your breath away. And on the ground, glare ice from melting temperatures yesterday and Saturday. If the wind subsides, I’ll be OK. Such a price we poor Minnesotans have to pay for a couple of nice days.

One more comment about blogging, too. If I usually leave comments on your blog, and you’re not seeing them these days, it is because I can’t. For whatever reason, there are a few blogs that are causing my computer to crash, as in the “blue screen of death” pops up. It’s time to see if I can’t get my computer whiz kid to look at it again, but until that happens, I just wanted you to know I’m not being stuck up!

Enough jabber for tonight. I’m off to do some of the laundry that didn’t get done on the weekend and maybe eke a little something out in my corner. Enjoy your evening! Later…

These are both soo cute Kathi!!! Do you stamp on the textured CS? LOVE your take on the Unscripted Sketch this week.
I have messed around in my spot and cut up way too much cardstock for a mediocre card...Mojo is swinging downwards at the moment.
Our weather is a blizzard here...we have the snow and the winds..40-50 mph. I35 is closed from just north of me all the way to MN border!!!
Pity about the Vikings...how was Marv?

These are both so perfect - yet not difficult! I love them!

I'm so sorry about your weather! Yikes - wanna come to Arizona for a week? My door is open, dear friend!

Pretty cards. Hope you get your computer fixed. I've upgraded to Windows 7 could that be a problem? Miss hearing from you.

Hey chica!

Love the cards tonight!

Today has been somewhat unproductive at the Grotegut household. I've been kinda run down and tired. Managed to snap some photos of tomorrow's blog post and clean up from the jewelry making blitz. (Photos coming... and Etsy shop coming eventually... it's in the works.)

Tomorrow is a big work day and I have loads of "fun" to look forward to. lol!

Our weather is sunny and COLD. I am hoping we get a good snowstorm tomorrow or Wed. We sure need it!

Oh Kathi, I love how you make "simple" spectacular! These are both wonderful cards. Yes, textured cs adds just the right touch.

So sorry to hear about your computer. Is there something in the air that is causing them to act up? Mine is too, still, from time to time. Very frustrating.

And the weather....grrrrrr....I feel for you! We had some wind yesterday, but nothing like you or Sarah appear to be having. Hang in there!

These are GORGEOUS! I love the 1st one with the hearts. I may lift it if you don't mind?
Keep warm, it's getting cold here again too.

Have a great day!
