Chirpie

This top card is the first of three quick Easter cards I made using the Chirpy Collection from DigiStamp Boutique. This one is my take on FTL #84 on the Clean & Simple Stamping blog.

This second card is my adaptation of CPS160 as featured on the Card Positioning Systems blog. I colored all three images with Prismacolor colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits.

My last card is a modified version of C4C30 on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. You can’t see it, but the eggs have glitter on them. Maybe the flower and egg on the other cards could use a little glitter, too… Hmm...

How has your weekend been? Excellent, I hope. I’ve had a great weekend albeit the hands on the clock seemed to have stepped it up. I made a trip downtown yesterday, which is something I rarely do. I also came to the realization that I live in the town where one cannot buy something as basic as a spool of thread. Wal-Mart sells small repair kits with an assortment of thread colors in them but no spools are to be found. Is it any wonder the UPS man makes regular trips to my door? I hate to half to resort to the Internet for something as basic as black thread, however. Sigh…

Dustin’s 864-word autobiography ended up being a four-hour project this afternoon. He’s determined (a nice word for stubborn) and a bit persnickety, so I was pleased when my first draft passed inspection with only a few minor changes. I fully expected that we would lock horns at some point. It didn’t happen. Nice.

Nope, I’m off to do a little spray painting before it gets too dark or cold. I bought materials for a “project” yesterday, which I will show you if it turns out. LOL. I hope your week is wonderful. Thanks for stopping by. Your visits and words of encouragement mean the world to me. Later …

Your cards are adorable. Love the new look to your blog. Your post from March 23 really intrigued me and one of my favorite craft stores is having a class on silhoutte stamps and I signed up. I know what you mean about living in a town where you can't find basic things. Our Wal-Mart here is like that. But we have a JoAnn's so we can buy thread there. In factg JoAnn's is the only craft store in the Soo (Sault Ste Marie). Next craft store is in St.Ignace and it is mom and pop store and they don't have a lot of selection.

Hi Kathi,

Your cards are just darling! That's a cute, cute, cute image! It looks good with caboodle, too!

A few years ago I would have said that I couldn't live in a town where I couldn't buy a spool of black thread. But, today, I actually prefer shopping at home. The fun is gone from the old days when shop-till-you-drop was my mantra! It's a chore now.

I'm glad the teamwork on the essay was good - that must feel wonderful. Isn't it great how our precious babies grow up to be such wonderful adults??? How on earth did that happen?!

Have a great Monday.

Hugs.

Your Chirpies are just adorable! Love the cards! They make me smile. *Ü*

I'm so glad the essay portion of your afternoon, while long, ended up being a productive one. I'm sure your son really appreciated your input!

And you've got me really intrigued with your comments about a new project...spray paint? Needing black thread? I can't wait to see!

Goodwill is actually online, if you are interested...you can also check out Craigslist. And I'll bet there are garage sales when the frozen tundra thaws out. I admit to being spoiled where I live and being able to have access to several stores.

If you are interested...www.plumpurdy.com has free shipping until the 31st. She sells clear stamps. Just sayin....

Your cards are all so darling. What great images and they go great with that paper pack.

As for the thread, that would be hard not to be able to just go and buy something like that.

Maybe there's a store that sells thread along with some other goodies, oh, I don't know, like scrapbooking ones, that you can buy so you feel like it was worth it. :)

Your cards are adorable!! The last one is too cute!
What does mineral spirits do? I have never used it. I see you use that a lot.
I know what you mean about Wal-Mart not selling thread anymore. $ucks! I complained about it to anyone who was listening. She told me to call 1800 wal mart. Hahahaha... She said they listen to the customer.
Yeah right!
