Harold

Harold Digi Image_Apr 2010

Mathias is going to be five this coming Sunday, which got me to thinking about birthday cards for little boys. Meet Harold, a digital image from DigiStamp Boutique. There is something about him I think is so darned cute.

The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. Someone left a question recently about the use of mineral spirits. The blending technique is explained here and on numerous other websites and blogs, all of which will do a much better job of describing it than I could.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White and Autumn Terracotta cardstock; Basic Grey Archaic 6x6-inch paper pad; Chocolate ink pad; Digital image from DigiStamp Boutique; Close To My Heart Happy Birthday stamp set; Chocolate Bigger Brads; Prismacolor colored pencils; Gamsol odorless mineral spirits; Blending stumps; Sanding block

I hope you had a great day! Mine was a good one, albeit I’m still tired from the weekend. Easter at my sister and brother-in-law’s house was so much fun. My mom, five of my six siblings, their spouses, seven of the 12 grandchildren, three more spouses/significant others, the three great-grandchildren, and Husband and I were there. The food (enough to feed a small army) was wonderful. There was also enough laughter to keep me smiling until the next time we get together. For now, I gotta run. Husband wants to go out for dinner. In no mood to cook, I’m all about eating out. Have a great evening, and thanks for stopping by! Later …

This Is Absolutely Adorable!! I'm sure your grandson will love it!

When you say digital image, does that mean you download it and print it off on CS. A Duh question, but i have never did a digital card image.

Sounds like you had a wonderful Easter with family.
Hope you had a great dinner out!!

It's his little eyebrows that make him so adorable! So cute!
You're lucky to have that big family. I had lunch with my mom, two sisters and a couple of bro-in-laws. My mom was so cute!!!

Kathi,
Have you read the books "My Father's Dragon"? When I saw your card, I flashed back to those books - they are just wonderful - were favorites of my DD (and me!) and we read them and re-read them many times. They're mid-level reading - but could certainly be good bedtime stories to read aloud . . .

Anyway - I ramble! :(
I LOVE your card - it is just the thing for a 5 year old boy - Mathias will love it and also appreciate the effort you gave to make it - he gets it.

Hugs!

Oh Kathi! I love this card!! It's so cute...who'd have thunk a dragon could be cute, but he sure is. Mathias will love it!

I'm SO glad you had a lovely weekend with your family. Puts gladness in your heart, even if you get tired in the body. LOL

Have a wonderful week, my dear.

Your card is adorable! I love Harold and his name seems to suit him. The background paper you've used is just perfect for this little fellow and you are the Master of coloring with Prisma pencils and OMS!

Your Easter celebration sounds wonderful...so glad you had a great time.

AND...your new blog design is so very cute! Just darling, Kathi!
