Find Joy Every Day

Treasure Life_Jan 2011I just noticed today there is a grammatical issue with the stamp I used for sentiment on this card.  As it is used, “everyday” should be “every day.” “Find joy every day” is correct as would be “find everyday joy.” Some (mostly younger folks) would accuse me of just being picky. They tell me the rules of grammar, punctuation, and spelling are old-fashioned. I don’t think so, although I make my share of errors – especially when writing in haste. Every once in a while, I will read and old post and cringe. LOL.

Today’s card was inspired by this card on the Simplicity blog. I used a piece of copy paper to create a stencil for my rectangle.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Black, and Pear cardstock; Black and Pear ink pads; CTHM Treasure Life and Hero Arts Anytime Messages stamp sets; Hero Arts Friend Definition stamp; Round sponge.

A Slice of Life: This being my third week of working the new hours, I have concluded that I am probably not going to move very fast on Thursdays. Work was great last night – busy and productive. Tonight promises more of the same.

For now, I am off to make a chicken and rice casserole for dinner. While it bakes, I’ll take a shower and get ready for work. Enjoy your evening, friends, and thanks for stopping by.

Hi, Kathi, I'm a new follower (found you from Sharli's blog). Love the card's simplicity and its colors! I totally agree with you about "every day"--can you cut that word apart? More should be this picky when it comes to our English language and its use! I'll be back to visit often. :)

Hi Kathi!
I love the card, and love knowing the proper grammar, thank you! I think it would be awesome if it read "find everyday Joy" - because that's the kind of Joy that is abundant and somehow magical.

Beautiful green!
Hugs!!

I'm right there with you girl! And to prove that I read all of your post, you typed "and" in the first paragraph instead of "an". See, we are sisters from another mister!!!! Except that yours is just a quick typo, and not grammatical.
Glad the job is going well. You will get used to it!

Such a lovely card! I'm the same way, except I edit things I find, lol. But I write training manuals for a living, so guess my grammar better be decent, lol.
