Love Ewe

Love Ewe_Feb 2011

Are you having a good weekend? I just caught the half-time act during the Super Bowl. What fun! I also saw/heard Christina Aguilera sing (“mangle” according to USA Today) the national anthem at the start of the game. I will just say that it was not my favorite rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Lea Michele’s “America the Beautiful” was great. So much for my armchair critique. With Husband manning the remote control and more channel surfing than normal going on, I’m not even trying to follow the game. May the best team win.

I didn’t feel like stamping today until I saw some of this week’s sketch challenges. This one is SSS94 as featured on The Sweet Stop blog.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Holiday Red, and Black cardstock; Black, Holiday Red, Grey Flannel, and White Daisy pigment ink stamp pads; Unity Love Ewe, Papertrey Ink Polka Dot Basics, and Close To My Heart Togetherness stamp sets; Black grosgrain ribbon; Prismacolor colored pencils; Gamsol odorless mineral spirits; Blending stumps; Dove blending pen; Round sponge; 1/2-inch heart punch; Cuttlebug w/Nestabilities Classic Circles set; 3M foam mounting tape.

A Slice of Life: Well, I made it through another workweek and believe I have caught up on my rest. Sixteen hours should do it. LOL. Bjorn and Mathias stayed with us last night. Mari was here, too, for about an hour in the afternoon while her Mommy and Daddy did some shopping. She’s coming back tomorrow afternoon. Miranda has a doctor’s appointment. Next Saturday, she’s spending the night! After the little boys left today, I went to have coffee with Mom and make a lunch/shopping date for tomorrow. I’m going to bring her home with me, too, so she can spend a little time with her great-granddaughter.

As usual, I have 100 or so things I want to get done during the next few days. More realistically, I made a “Gotta Do” list with six items on it. There is one that  I can accomplish tonight if I just get to it … like now. LOL.

I will close with the wish that your week is wonderful. Take care, and thanks for stopping by!

Adorable card, Kathi! Love all the details. *Ü*

As for the "entertainment" for the Super Bowl. Loved Lea Michele, didn't care for Christina Aguilera at all (and it didn't help that she messed up), but those Black Eyed Peas had me scratching my head. I didn't "get" it at all. Of course I don't listen to them so have no clue if the sound system was as bad as I thought it was or they just can't sing. LOL However, I watched Glee after the game for the very first time and was thoroughly entertained by their singing and routines. What fun that was! I also didn't care for a lot of the commercials. Most of them again seemed mean-spirited and what's with movies now being 3-D?! (okay, I think I AM getting old now)

Have a wonderful week, Kathi! Sounds like you have some fun plans in the works!

Kathi, Since you're the biggest product junkie I know, I'm coming to you. (If you count knowing as lurking on your blog and posting twice) Anyways, I have a friend stamping embellishments on wedding invites in moonstruck on a stone fleck recycled paper. Do you know of anything that would add a nice metalic shimmer to the ink? or instead of moonstruck a nice shimmery midnight blue ink?

I didn't know if you had any experience with metallic chalks?

What a enchanting card, Kathi.

How exciting for you that Mari gets to spend the night.

We are not football fans so didn't watch the Superbowl but it was on the news about Christina's mess up.

I need to get some bills paid so I can play.

Oh my goodness, what an adorable card. That image is just too cute with the baby looking up at its mama.

I'm glad you have gotten caught up on your rest. And I hope that your to do list is dwindling as we speak.

Sweet card Kathi! Hope you're enjoying all your time off. :)
As for the game.... I was glued and at the edge of my seat. Didn't see all of Christina A. sing. As for half time and the Peas. Don't really get into there music. I thought the 1/2 time show was a waste of time. Even with their glowing lit up costumes. hahaha
