Beautiful You

This card was inspired by a beautiful card by Michelle Woerner, which can be found in the Verve Stamps Gallery on Verve Stamps' website. I love how the cards in the gallery are organized by stamp set, and I truly appreciate all of the inspiration there. The card was made using Beautiful You, Verve Stamps' 2008 Commemorative set. In addition to the great flower, the set features 13 quotes chosen by those serving as "Verve Divas" during the company's first year. Word lover that I am, I could not pass up this set, and I've loved this particular quote for as long as I can remember.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Bamboo, and Twilight cardstock; Stampin' Up Porcelain Prints Designer Paper (retired); Black ink pad; Twilight grosgrain ribbon; Hero Arts 5mm Pearl Accents; 3M foam mounting tape.

Happy Friday! Even though Monday was a holiday, the workweek didn't seem short for anyone where I work. Rather, it seemed like we all had to work harder because of the day we had off. With the abrupt weather change here, there are many who are complaining of allergy-type ailments. Sniffling with a dull headache this evening, I might fit into that crowd, too.

I don't have anything specific on my agenda for the weekend with the exception of watching the boys in the morning while their daddy attends the funeral of a friend's father. Marv is going to the hunting cabin for the day. They're still working on it and have an electrician coming tomorrow. Between now and the end of the year/bow hunting season, Marv will be absent many/most weekends. As a newlywed, that just about killed me, but it wasn't too many years before I started saying, "You are going somewhere this weekend, aren't you?" LOL. I do plan on doing some stamping this weekend, and I'd like to do some organizing in my corner, too. I need to come up with a storage system for my non-CTMH acrylic stamps. I'm not that crazy about CD cases. Any great idea's out there? For tonight, I'm going to turn off the political pundits for the first time in days and find a sitcom or movie - anything that isn't serious. I hope yours is a wonderful weekend. Later!

When you devise that organization system, be sure to share it with the rest of us messy folk out here!

Hi Kath. Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog tonight. I feel like I have been so out of touch with my bloggin' buddies lately. I guess life with two little ones running around eventually caught up with me.

BTW, I love this card. The colors are fab, the layout is beautiful, and yes, the sentiment is perfect as well. Great job! *Ü*

The weekend is bringing you much creativity as usual Kathi...love the 'dry' embossed one (doesn't look embossed to me but heck whatdoiknow....lol.

HERE IS HOW I ORGANIZE MY NON-CTMH Acrylic stamps.

THE 6 x 6 paper organizers (the same envelopes that CTMH COME IN) are orderable in packs of 3 so I use those - cutting the sheets as necessary to make them fit. I have an old CTMH organizer that I actually cut the lid off but you wouldn't have to - and I keep the stamps all that way - so same as my CTMH but not...lol. I also have a labeller so I can label the envelope with the stamp company and description of stamp set.

HTH - it works for me as my corner probably is about the same size as yours Kathi.... space is limited!

oh and the smaller individual stamps that one acquires (from Mikes etc) I have in one or two envelopes - works like a charm!

Your work is fantastic! I like the little monkeys system, it is a lot like the CTMH system. I have had several ways of storage, but this is my favorite... the first one I really LIKE! LOL

Organization??? I use CD sized plastic boxes that I got from Walmart &/or Dollar Tree. I have 'em separated by color. Oh and I flip 'em around so that the stamps are facing out with the paper color behind them. Wait...you want it for your other stamps. Hmmmmm...can't help I'm a cd case kinda gal.
