Morning Glow

As I was laying in bed the other night, I had an idea. Like a lot of late night ideas, I couldn't remember it the following day . . . or the day after that. As I was paging through a magazine this morning, I remembered.

I've watercolored some of the designs created with Cuttlebug embossing folders. My idea was to try painting one using the shimmery Create-A-Shade paint, and before I forgot again, I gave it a try. What do you think? The only thing I found was that I need to use a bigger variety of paint brushes next time. Painting the vines would have been much easier with a line brush than the flat shaker I use to paint paper flowers.

One more tip: The Create-A-Shade paint is the Close To My Heart brand. If you don't have a consultant nearby, Delta Ceramcoat's white Pearl Finish Gleams paint mixed with reinkers or some kind of coloring agent will net you the same results.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Black cardstock; Black ink; Twilight, Sweet Leaf, and Buttercup reinkers; CTMH Create-A-Shade paint; Impression Obsession Sentiments II stamp set; Cuttlebug w/Stylized Flowers A2 embossing folder; White organdy ribbon; 1-1/4 inch and 1-inch circle punches.

Now that I've got my bright idea out of the way for today, it's time to get back on task. Did you get a chance to take a peek at the new Papertrey Ink releases? As I thought I would, I really like the wedding set and think the birthday sentiment set would be great, too. Too often, I don't have the right sentiment for the inside of my cards. With stuff to do, I'd best get going. Have a great day, and I'll talk to you later!

I really love the softness of this card. . . I just purchased a cuttlebug of my own so I'll be anxious to give this type of technique a try!
