Card Evolution

I had something totally different in mind for this card until I took a good look at the paper and realized how closely the little flowers resembled the stamps in the Angel Whispers stamp set. The card just kind of evolved. I stamped the Baby Pink flower head and went from there. The flower elements are layered with foam mounting tape, and the leaves were paper pieced with Bamboo, Vineyard Berry and Baby Pink cardstock. The very last thing I did was outline the flower with my Baby Pink marker to keep it from fading into the busy background. The end result is a card I love.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Vineyard Berry, Bamboo and Baby Pink cardstock; Basic Grey Sugared designer paper; Baby Pink, Vineyard Berry, and Versamark ink pads; Baby Pink embossing powder; Baby Pink marker; Angel Whispers stamp set; Pink button; Brown Waxy Flax; Corner rounder; Circle punches; 3M foam mounting tape.

Isn't "Shellie" the turtle cute? A Cuttlekids die, which was on an end display (darn those things) at Wal-Mart, she found her way into my shopping cart the other day. While the Cuttlebug embossing folders do not work with Cuttlekids, the Cuttlekids' dies work with the Cuttlebug. I call that smart marketing by Provocraft. Anyway, I cut her out and put her together, and she laid on my desktop until this morning when I used her to make this little 3x3 gift enclosure. Simple and cute if I do say so myself.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Topiary, and Sweet Leaf cardstock; Topiary Ink pad; Say it in Style May SOTM stamp set; Cuttlebug w/Cuttlekids Shellie die; Ribbon from Wal-Mart; 3M foam mounting tape.

It's noon and time to eat a bite and get on with the aforementioned (crazy word, isn't it?) business at hand. Have a great day!

Oh that first one is SO pretty! I love what you've done with it.

I've resisted those dies at Walmart. I don't know how strong I can be, though, when you post something as adorable as this turtle!! I guess I could justify it as something for the girls.....LOL
