Friday Favorites

Part of my clean-up effort this evening included removing "gunk" from my scissors, piercing tool, paper trimmers, and every other tool that has come in contact with adhesive recently. Thus, my Friday Favorites this week - Goo Gone.

It's not the most pleasant product in the world. Petroleum based, it smells. It's harmful or even fatal if swallowed, too, so it's definitely a product to be kept out of the reach of children. Goo Gone is also highly flammable, so blow out the candles before using it. Regardless of its smell and the precautions one needs to follow to use it, it is, nevertheless, the best thing I've come across for cleaning my tools. I just spray a little on a paper towel and wipe. It's as easy as that.

Available at discount, hardware, and grocery stores, it has other uses, too, although the directions say to test it first on an inconspicuous area. The bottle also warns not to use it on silk, leather, suede or rubber, so it is not a product I would even attempt to try to use to clean up acrylic stamps or blocks.

Now, before calling it a day and going to bed early, I'm off for a little blurfing (blog surfing) to see if I can catch some inspiration for tomorrow. Thanks for stopping. Have a great weekend!

Not pleasant, poisonous, stinky, flammable, deadly, unsafe on certain surfaces .... Wow. You listed a whole bunch of disclaimers on this one!

Love all the disclaimers, true though they may be. I haven't used Goo Gone, but UnDU instead. Which was taken off the market when the folks in CA deemed it too hazardous for use. But I noticed it's back in the stores, so they must have tweaked something in the formula to get past the rules in CA. LOL
