To the Last Scrap

I was going to entitle this post "Good to the Last Scrap," but instead, I'm thinking I should have quit while I was ahead! I'm not lovin' my Breeze card, and as for the one that used up every last scrap, I'm not so sure about that one either. Either I need some lunch or these cards do funny things to my stomach. I was going to toss them in the scrap heap but deemed posting them is good for my humility. At least I got the "Hello" right. Every time I use alphabet stamps, I recall my Christmas "Leon" card, as in "Noel" stamped backwards. The "O" on this card was originally going to be a flower, but I feared the recipient might not get it. The word "Hell," even with a flower at the end of it, isn't a very nice greeting! That much humility I don't need.

Materials & Tools (top card): White Daisy, Breeze, and Ocean cardstock; White Daisy pigment, Breeze, and Ocean ink pads; Treasures of the Heart, Giggles Upper Case, Giggles Lower Case stamp sets; Just Blooms White Daisy Variety Pack; Yellow mini brads; Cuttlebug w/Traffic Jam embossing folder.

Materials & Tools (bottom card): White Daisy, Holiday Red, Breeze, Sweet Leaf, and Black cardstock; White Daisy pigment, Holiday Red, Breeze, Sweet Leaf and Black ink pads; Treasures of the Heart and Say it in Style May SOTM stamp sets.

With all those scraps used up, I can move on to something else once I get a little housework done. I'm not certain if Marv wants to do anything today. Right now, he seems perfectly content in his recliner watching the World Curling Championship on television. The event is taking place in nearby Grand Forks, and Dusty asked him if he wanted to go. When he declined, I'll have to admit I was rather relieved, as I believe it would have been a couples thing. Curling, like hockey, is not my cup of tea. For the second year in the row, the mailman delivered a package to me on my husband's birthday. Last year, it was a couple Cricut cartridges. This year, it's a couple of sets of Nestabilities. I saved 40 percent on them but waited a long time. I placed my order on February 28. For the savings, the wait was worth it. They aren't a necessity . . . like anything in my corner is. As for the fact that they arrived on Marv's birthday, I didn't get the same wise guy remarks I got last year. Maybe he's starting to think this is the way it's supposed to be . . .

As much as I'd like to keep playing in my corner, I'm going to go do a little cleaning. Thanks for stopping by! Unless the birthday boy feels like doing something, I'll be back later.

I really like the square one - but I'm in a USE SCRAPS mood a lot! I did have to laugh at "HELL with a flower" ... haha.

Happy birthday Marv.

You made me laugh out loud reading this post! I think the cards are fine, although there IS a lot of Breeze on the first one. Maybe switch the piece with the hello to white and do the stamping on the background piece...? The second card is very nice!

How funny you mentioned the Curling Tournament...I read another blog, My Pixelated Oasis, and she does that Photo a Day challenge. She lives in Grand Forks, and wouldn't you know, she shared photos (some neat ones, too) of Curling! Like you, it doesn't look like my cup of tea, but the pictures were cool, as was her description of what it's about.
