Plain Pretty

Here's a simple card that I put together before going to last night using Verve Stamps Filigree Fantasy set and some little self-stick pearl embellishments I purchased from Hero Arts.

Material & Tools: White Daisy, Heavenly Blue, and Cocoa cardstock; Heavenly Blue and Cocoa ink pads; Verve Stamps Filigree Fantasy and Papertrey Ink Mixed Messages stamp sets; Hero Arts 5mm Pearls; Brown satin ribbon from Walmart; 1 and 1-1/4 circle punches; Sponge dauber; 3M foam mounting tape.

As last night turned out, I could just as well have stamped all night, although coughing probably isn't any more conducive to stamping than it is to sleep. I know I didn't get more than a couple hours of uninterrupted sleep, and I'm feeling it tonight. The good news today is the bride and groom-to-be have set a wedding date - September 19, 2009 - pending the availability of the church and reception location. I would think that this far in advance, their chances should be relatively good. Hearing Dusty talk about it is fun, because he's so excited and happy. He did make the comment, however, that he's hoping Miranda doesn't turn into a "Bridezilla." I don't think that's likely.

Other than talk of the wedding, it was a quiet day, the beginning of what I think will be a quiet week. Holiday weeks are usually like that, providing a great opportunity to catch up. Tonight, I'm going to play around in my corner for a bit and then turn in early to see if I can catch up on a little sleep. Hope you had a good day. I'll catch you again tomorrow evening.

I agree with the pretty part of your post title, but not the plain! This is a beautiful card. All the elements work together to create a simple elegance.

I'm sorry to hear the cough is lingering...I hope you got better sleep last night!

Okay, just tell me I'm a dork! When I first looked at the title I read Pretty Plain, NOT Plain Pretty! Gives it a whole different meaning and will explain why I wrote what I did.

Ah well...the card is wonderful no matter how dorky this commentor is!

I really like this card, it's pretty. Love the pearls. I guess I don't get out much since I haven't seen these. Great to come to your blog and always see such great work here. Thanks for making it fun to drop by.
