A Quick Card…

Thoughtful Accents_Dec 2009

… or should maybe I should say, it should have been. As it was, I fussed and fiddled only to end up with a very simple, should-have-been quick card. Next time. LOL.

While you may not have noticed I’ve been a pretty good girl this fall in the area of using restraint in my purchases. No impulse purchases and no hopping on a new release until, that is, I saw this set from Verve Stamps. I couldn’t help myself. It was love at first sight. Being I was going to pay for some postage, I made it worthwhile (the best excuse in the world to add to one’s cart) by ordering this set and a couple of Plain Janes (love them, too) to go with it.

As for my card, there isn’t a lot of explaining to be done. The only thing you can’t see is the dimension – the center image and sentiment are raised. Foam tape has got to be the most-used “staple” in my corner.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White and Black cardstock; Graphic 45 Fashionista En Vogue patterned paper; Black and Bamboo ink pads; Verve Stamps Thoughtful Accents and Hero Arts Thinking of You stamp sets; Black Bitty Brads; Corner rounder; Cuttlebug w/Nestabilities Classic Circles set; Sponge dauber; 3M foam mounting tape.

Happy Friday! With an out-of-town bridal shower to attend tomorrow and a family birthday party to go to on Sunday, I have a feeling the weekend is going to fly by as fast as the rest of the week did. Between the goings on, I’m hoping for enough time to finally “deck the halls” and work on a few projects in my corner. Not much to do but go with the flow and see what transpires.

You enjoy the weekend, too! Later …

It's a pretty card - I like the stamp set, too! I haven't had a moment to even walk into my craft room this week. I won't tonight, either - just too exhausted to do anything but read my favorite blogs and go to bed early! Have

Enjoy your weekend, friend!

Oh wow Kathi!!! Can I say ENABLER!!!! Those stamps are gorgeous, and I would never have known of their existence if you hadn't posted the link!
Your card is beautiful and the image is perfect with that paper. I can fuss and fuss over a 'simple' card..because when it's finished it IS simple..LOL
I think you and I are in the Less Is More Camp .
Foam Tape is to card making as chocolate is to brownies :0)I am ALWAYS buying more.
Have a great weekend Kathi.

This is so gorgeous Kathi. You have such a knack of making such breathtaking cards. I can see why you had to have this stamp set. I'm glad you could make the shipping charges "worth it". Enjoy the weekend.

I've seen that stamp set and been tempted, oh so tempted. But seeing as I haven't been stamping lately and I'm being so dang frugal, I sighed and moved on. Now I get to look forward to seeing your use of the set. Which is absolutely gorgeous in this case. Ahhhhhhh....thanks for sharing!

Have fun this weekend!
