Old Bears . . .

I pulled open a drawer to put a wood-mounted stamp away this morning and noticed a couple of old, neglected bears staring up at me. I have no idea if these stamps are still manufactured. I'm had them for at least 10 years. I have a modest collection of Boyd's Bears, which is why, I'm sure, I bought them. I'm certain I thought they were cute, too - still do!

I colored the images with my Dove blending pen and ink from an assortment of ink pads. Several have commented about my use of the blending pen. I don't claim any talent here but give sole credit to the Dove brand pen. For anyone who missed it, I featured it in this Friday Favorite post. It's all in the pen, and all pens are not created equal.

Materials & Tools (top card): Colonial White and Chocolate cardstock; Life Delights paper packet; Uptown Rubber Stamps Emma & Bailey . . . Afternoon Tea rubber stamp; Black, Brown Bag, Chocolate, Cocoa, Bamboo, Desert Sand, Garden Green, Olive, Hollyhock, Baby Pink, Amethyst, and Twilight stamp pads; Twill ribbon; Acrylic discs from Michael's; Sanding Block; 3M foam mounting tape.

Materials & Tools (bottom card): Colonial White, Barn Red, and Indian Corn Blue cardstock; Black, Brown Bag, Chocolate, Cocoa, Bamboo, Desert Sand, Parchment, Cranberry, Barn Red, and Indian Corn Blue stamp pads; Uptown Rubber Stamps Wilson . . . Love Sonnets rubber stamp; Cuttlebug w/ Swiss Dots embossing cartridge; Corner rounder; Antiqued copper brads; Chocolate grosgrain ribbon; Stampin' Up Slot punch; Sanding block; 3M foam mounting tape.

I'm off to take a nap. I woke up this morning with the mother of all headaches. I couldn't sleep last night and finally got up and took something to put me to sleep. I managed to knock myself out all right, and now, I'm dealing with the repercussions. I should have stamped all night instead! With the exception of inky fingers, stamping has no side affects. Thanks for stopping. If I sleep off the headache and get my chores done, I might just be back. Later!

Oh my! I have a large collection of Boyd's Bears too. I recognized the bears as soon as I saw your cards. I had no idea that they made stamps. I will have to search them out if they are still available. Of course I love your cards as always, but these little cuties are extra special. *Ü*

Hope your headache goes away quickly!

You say you don't have any particular talent, but I beg to differ! You did an outstanding job coloring in these cute, cute bears!

I keep forgetting I have a Dove pen until you mention it! Dang, do you know where I can get a better memory? LOL

Thanks for sharing!
