The Witch is Back . . .

I went to put my stuff away and realized I hadn't made a card with the mummy yet. So, here he is. I scored the Orange cardstock helter-skelter and added the stamped elements in the same fashion - a little variance from my normal line-everything-up way of doing things. The mummy doesn't require much coloring, just skin that's showing, and I added a little Grey Flannel shading to his costume. As you can tell I like the fun, bright colors from the Summer palette for Halloween cards.

I got out of my lousy mood. There's a blog -one of the ten most looked at blogs, in fact - that features photographs of animals, mostly cats, and the craziest darned captions one can imagine. I can't even fathom being able to come up with such wild stuff. It goes with out saying, it's funny. No, I have food in my lap - a beef and potato burrito from Taco John's. I don't know how I talked Marv into that. He must have deemed keeping me happy to be wise.

Two Tents and a Window

After making the bib card, I decided to try a couple of tent cards. They're obviously easier. The decision as to whether to make a tent card or a bib card would probably be determined by the occasion. For a special birthday card, I'd take the time to make a bib card. Tent cards would be fine for party invitations. You can't tell by the photo, but the "Witchy" card (which could be my signature card tonight - I don't know why) is actually a window card. I cut the window using the Coluzzle. The character stamps are all from the new Little Spooks set. For the background on the "Count" card, I used the Hallow-scream word set, inking them right on their acetate sheet and using it like one big stamp. It's a little tricky. You have to make sure you press over each individual word to get a good image. The background on the "Franky" card was created with the new Black Scrubble tool (see page 37 in the catalog) using all of the green inks in the Summer collection. For the tone-on-tone stripes on my signature card, I used a stamp from the Fabric Finishes set. All of the images were colored with markers - Grey Wool, Hydrangea, Citrus Leaf, Ocean, Orange, and Sunny Yellow. The witch's hair is Brown Bag, and I used Vanilla Cream for her skin.

Now, I'd best go work myself out of my witchy mood. It was a quiet day. I cleaned a little, stamped a little, blogged a little, and took a little nap. I didn't even go downstairs to get the mail. Maybe it was too quiet.

One More Alphabet Card

With this card, I've used all of the E-size CTMH alphabets I currently have in my possession. The Cobblestone set is easy to use, although because of the size of the letters, I deem it more appropriate for scrapbooking. The three skinny, little characters are from the Halloween Dingbats set. I colored them with markers. Now that I've spent a little time using the alphabet sets, I think I'm much more likely to reach for them for scrapbook layouts. The UPS man is bringing me the Baroque alphabet when he brings our September stamp club order on Friday. I have seen some gorgeous Christmas Cards and monogram cards made with this set, so that one was ordered with cardmaking in mind.

I don't have any specific plans for this week. I have several sets of photographs crying out to be scrapped, and I should make some sympathy cards to have on hand. I also have some cleaning and decorating projects that should be addressed. The walls all need painting, windows washed and living room draperies taken down and taken to the dry cleaners. I have several pieces of furniture, namely my kitchen chairs and an armoire I'm giving Cameron for clothing storage for the boys, that need to be painted, too. I've had the primer and paint for several months . . . typical. Perfectionism, they say, is synonymous with procrastination. Actually, I think I'll exercise my leadership skills and delegate. Painting the walls, cleaning the windows, and taking the draperies out to be cleaned can be added to a "honey do" list. I like that idea.

Boo Two

I eeked out one more quick card before putting my stuff away. This is a cute stamp set, and the price is right at $10.95. In addition to the leaf (used as a background stamp on the Orange cardstock in case you can't see it), cat, pumpkin, trick or treat stamps, there's one that say's "Happy Haunting." This would be a cute set for some quick bag toppers for Halloween treats. So many ideas . . . So little time!

Boo!

Here's a simple card I made tonight with CTMH's Halloween Fun (A1089) stamp set. While I wouldn't mind taking credit, it was actually inspired by a card I saw on another blog. The card gave me with the opportunity to try out the cool Spiral Punch I purchased recently at a Stampin' Up party. SU has some great punches! Originally, I mounted the strip on plain Orange cardstock. Deciding it needed a little more pizazz, I pealed the stamped design off and ran the orange background through the Cuttlebug using the Spiral embossing folder. I hope I have the opportunity to do some more stamping this weekend. Tomorrow, I'm spending the day with Bjorn and Mathias, so any artistic endeavors will most likely be limited to Crayola! Maybe Sunday . . .
